Rawcliffe Station 1981

This box was on the Goole-Wakefield line and was originally built by the LMS. It supervised the manned level crossing at Snaith Road and worked absolute block to Snaith West and track circuit block to Goole panel.

View looking west. The box controlled a level crossing using the 'boom' gates popular in the north east region of what was BR.

General view of 25 lever 'Midland' type frame.

Close up of the block shelf. The NE type instrument works AB to Snaith West. The bells are (from the left) Snaith Road LC, Snaith West SB, Goole Panel.

Signals cleared for the passage on an up train and wicket gates locked. Note the unusual lever sequence, with the distant lever next in sequence after the starter.

The box diagram. Snaith West to the left and Goole Panel to the right.
