The previous pages have followed the production of 'Real Ale', but Darley's also produced 'bright' or 'keg' beer, known in the trade as 'brewery conditioned' beer.  The process was essentially the same, but following fermentation the beer was conditioned in large tanks before being filtered and sent to the kegging line, where it was packaged and pasteurised. Bottled beer was produced in a similar way.
